Fourth Annual University of Maryland Technology Startup Boot Camp
-- Hosted by MTECH

An intensive, free*, day-long workshop about how to turn an innovative product idea into a successful technology-based company--taught by leading professionals in the venture capitalist, legal, and entrepreneurship service communities.

When: October 22, 2004, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Where: Grand Ballroom, Stamp Student Union, University of Maryland

Who it's for: Faculty and students from local universities. Interested members of the community are also welcome to attend.

Keynote speaker: Dr. Kathleen Allen, a leading expert on entrepreneurship. Dr. Allen is the author of 12 books on entrepreneurship, including: Growing and Managing an Entrepreneurial Business, Bringing New Technology to Market, Launching New Ventures: An Entrepreneurial Approach, Entrepreneurship for Dummies, and Growing & Managing a Business: 25 Keys to Building Your Company. What you'll learn: technology entrepreneurship fundamentals, such as:

You'll also have the chance to network with the people who can help make your ideas a reality during the continental breakfast, break, and special networking luncheon. The Boot Camp is taught by leaders in the regional venture capital, legal and entrepreneurship service communities.

* The workshop is free for students, faculty and staff from academic institutions. Non-academic registrants are required to pay a $150 fee.
